Joseph Straus, MD, MBA
Joe's career has spanned successful leadership in both corporate and small business management and entrepreneurial. He has a rich and varied background in new medical technology assessment, development and commercialization.
Formerly, Joe was the founding CEO and Chairman of the international Healthcare Across Borders conferences which his team produced in the US, Europe, and Latin America. Subsequently, Joe developed a patient advocacy service helping clients seek optimal, best-in-class care from the most experienced medical experts. Joe has built up years of experience consulting for successful and high potential medical technology companies, and has been helping businesses raise investment capital and establish strategic partnerships.
Ilya advises on business and investment strategy with a focus on targeting early milestones necessary to build value for raising capital. Through his extensive relationships among funds from the private, institutional, economic-development, and VC sectors he helps attract financing to top tier startups. Previously, as CEO at NeuroQuest, a Trendlines Medical company, he led the clinical validation of blood-based biomarkers for Alzheimer’s and ALS diseases, secured financing from private and institutional investors, and partnered with key international players in the industry. Prior to making aliya, he worked in global finance at Johnson & Johnson’s Ethicon Endo-Surgery.
Rick was the former Managing Director of the State of Ohio’s business promotion office in Tel Aviv. He has also served as assistant general counsel to Israel Aircraft Industries and Assistant to the Director General of Israel's Ministry of Justice, dealing specifically with international legal issues. Prior to moving to Israel, Rick served as an attorney with the New York law firm of Brown & Wood (now Sidley Austin). Rick graduated summa cum laude from The Ohio State University in political science, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He received his law degree from the Columbia University Law School.

Dan Szythe Life Science and Healthcare Advisory Team at EY (Ernst & Young). There he led the business strategy and funding strategy life sciences, medical device, digital healthcare, and clean-tech companies. In these capacities he managed the evaluation of the companies’ funding needs, locating relevant funding sources in Israel and abroad, and submission of funding applications to relevant granting agencies. His clients have included well known start-ups, established companies, and global pharma for company’s funding strategy and grant application in the European Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Dan has a strong background in molecular biology/biotechnology and was part of a PhD program in Molecular Genetics at the Weizmann Institute, Israel. Prior to EY, Dan worked as a research scientist at EvoGene and Compugen, and as a IP Patent assistant at Ehrlich & Fenster.
