Joseph Straus, MD, MBA
Dr. Joe Straus comes to Blue Stream Partners with both corporate, and small business management and entrepreneurial experience. He has a rich and varied background in new medical technology assessment, development and commercialization.
After working with the Red Cross, Joe began his career with Mallinckrodt Inc., a global pharmaceutical and medical devices company. There, he spearheaded the rapid introduction of a first in class radiopharmaceutical (OctreoScan®) in the US market, working closely with key opinion leaders. His other responsibilities included new technology assessment, as a key member of the company’s business development, in-licensing team.
He also served as the founding CEO and Chairman of the international Healthcare Across Borders conferences which his team produced in the US, Europe, and Latin America. Subsequently, Joe developed a patient advocacy service helping clients seek optimal, best-in-class care from the most experienced medical experts. Joe has built up years of experience consulting for successful and high potential medical innovation companies, and has been helping businesses raise investment capital and establish strategic partnerships.
Joe hails from the Netherlands and is a graduate of Vrije Universiteit Medical School in Amsterdam. He earned an MBA from the Olin School of Business at Washington University, and was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. He is bilingual in English and Dutch, speaks Hebrew fluently, and German on a conversational level.
